Part-time Lead Surgery Assistant (TRAINING PROVIDED)

POSITIONS Circulator, Scrub and Surgery Assistant, Laser Technician
STATUS Part Time (up to 23 hours/wk)
ORGANIZATION Reports to Site Manager & Corporate Surgery Coordinator
BASIC FUNCTION: Fills ALL job description requirements of SAI & SAII as well as the following
Prior to Surgery Day:
Ensure that all instruments are wrapped and stored in an organized manner, instrument trays are ready and that equipment has been tested and is in proper working condition.
Day of Surgery:
Clean and prepare the surgery department.
Set up the surgery suite.
During surgery: Ideally will fill one of the positions in the O.R. - preferably the circulator or surgery assistant positions.
Following surgery: Final shut down of surgery department.
Non-surgery days: Order, stock, receive and organize all necessary supplies. Arrange for repairs on instruments and equipment as necessary. Care for and maintain the surgical instruments and trays. Communicate with traveling staff in regards to any special needs of upcoming surgery days. Maintain OR records and logs.

Medical Assistant License-fee provided
Surgical Tech license-fee provided
Good hand eye coordination
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to work long hours with limited breaks
Acute hearing and good visual acuity*
*Must have distance vision of 20/40 or better and near vision of J2 or better, at a distance of 20 inches. If spectacles or contact lenses are required to meet visual standards, then correction must be worn while at work. Testing upon hire date and annually thereafter
